Proposed design for the church's entry. The copper signs are nicely accented against the deeply sculptured stucco walls.
A brick planter wraps around the corner of the building and forms a base for the soaring stucco sculpture.

During construction of a new building complex for a teen center in Anderson, California, I was asked to come up with a proposal for an exterior remodel of an adjoining building being used by a church. My solution consisted of a sculptural treatment of exterior stucco, a brick corner planter and copper signage. The stylized sunburst at the entry and the soaring corner element was meant to offer an uplifting visual as a person approached the church. And, the juxtaposition of the styles of the new construction and the remodel introduced a dramatically contrasting, yet complimentary effect.

Unfortunately, the project was never built as shown. The artwork designs remain in the archives awaiting an opportunity to be individually customized for use by a future client.

This photo shows the ugly duckling building before remodelling began.
